Crochet alteration.

Summer dress a little to short for ageing knees?
Crochet a simple edging around the bottom to give you that extra couple of inches length. Ta-daa!

PS I've also done this with T-shirts that were too short and sleeves on a shop bought knitted jacket. Works a treat!

That looks really lovely! I remember doing this to tops that I'd grown out of when I was a teenager. I love the look and I'm so pleased it's come back again!xx

A lovely idea - I have been taking my hems down this year for a more discreet peak of knee type look, have been using lace and broderie anglais but crochet looks fab.

This might be a daft question, but how do you make the hole to get the crochet hook though the fabric? I'm very new to this crochet business and keen to progress beyond a granny square!

Have you thought of selling this idea to a magazine (with pattern of course) - I think it is brilliant.

A simple but great idea - look at all the fabulous response!!!

And now that I have learned to crochet I can start looking at my wardrobe with an eye to adding a crocheted border here and there!

Great idea! But would prefer if my knees did not sag in the first place - what's that all about? Totally unexpected! xCathy
