20 Minuters

Hello and welcome to our not so little group of bloggers who have asked to join me in my New Years Resolution, which is...
to spend at least 20 minutes every day sewing.
(everyone will be indulging in their own craft, some knitting, some sketching, some crochet etc.)
We need lots of encouragement so please take a look.

Well, I completed my 20 minutes yesterday and made a new makeup bag, which I am loving. Already have lots of ideas in my head to keep this up. Thanks again for the challenge.

I have just been doing the gusset decreases on a sock whilst sitting next to my daughter as she does her homework. I can supervise her and answer her queries, she feels like she is getting lots of attention, and I can have a bit of fun at the same time! Winners all round!

Not sure I will blog everyday, I but I can assure you I will be doing something everyday, with all this encouragement coming my way I don't want to let anyone down. Since about 2.30 till now 6.pm I have been crocheting! Hopeing to show results soon, I do want to finish this project first, it is for Caitlin for the car.

I am going to be scrapbooking each day - does that count? If so, I'd love to join!

I spent almost an hour last night winding 3 skeins of wool into balls, ready for starting the crochet scarf tonight. I also spent some time this afternoon tea dyeing more paper for printing on. I love crafting. And tomorrow? Well, I found the oddest thing today, lol, a small box full of a hundred or so clock hands. Big ones, little ones, teenyweeny ones, in all shapes and colours. Now I feel a collage coming on for tomorrow ............

Of course I will forgive you Fi (wandering off to sulk ;-) - only kidding.) I managed to do about 20 minutes crocheting last night and today, but have a rotten migraine coming on so think I will be early to bed tonight, once I've had dinner.

You seem to have started something here Fiona. I would join you - I usually do at least that much a day but I don't want to commit myself as I find the discipline of writing more difficult and it might suffer. But good luck to you all - maybe you could have a blog sale of work after a while!

I would love to join, I sat here and thought about it for a while when I realised I have been crafting for 20 mins if not more every day some days it's cross stitch, may be knitting, some card making just got to get some sewing done now.
Plus it will help with a couple of other challenges.
Thank you for the inspiration.

You've obviously hit on something here Fi! It's great all busily doing our own thing but together isn't it? I think Weaver of Grass's idea of a blog sale might indeed be a good one if we all keep this up!

Hi Hunni,
I think I would need a "20 minute a day housework challenge!" if I can get away with it I would sit and crochet all day! lol

I have just bought a tone of books from amazon which are sewing and crochet related so I hope to be starting early and honing my skills to make all my Christmas presents this year...

fab idea, and i will follow as many as i can and give you all the support you need...

I would love to join your group. I like to make every day count and that always includes crafting in some form. I find the encouragement I get from blogging friends really helps too. Please add me to your list.

Morning, I do believe your 20 Minutes is going to produce lots of finished projects this year.
I've copied the idea of listing a blog roll of all the 20 Minuters [slow porcess as I'm adding as I go] What a Fun Year this Is Going To Be.

Would love to join in your 20 minutes crafting,I don't have a blog but will keep in touch and let you know how I'm getting on. At the moment I'm teaching myself to crochet, so that should keep me busy for quite a while.

Well, as I sew everyday for my business I will sew for 20 mins every day just for me instead! Woohoo!!! Might sometimes do my 20 mins as knitting as that's my current obsession. Great idea x

Pleae add me your 20 minutes crafting. With a 6 year old and three year old twins I don't get time for much, but I try and do a bit of crafting each day to keep me sane. I will keep in touch and let you know how I'm getting on. At the moment I'm making a blanket with crochet granny squares, and an embroidery kit I picked up in Harrogate, so they'll keep me busy for a while.

And who knows, it may be just the push I need to start a blog!!

Hello
can I join in too please. I have a patchwork bag on the go at the moment. I have also promised to make my niece a wedding sampler by September - why oh why do I do it :) I reckon 20 mins a day won't be too taxing. I will do my 20 mins, once Twiglet is in bed and the decks are cleared!!

Hello..
I'm having trouble getting the button on my blog....do all the usual things and it just comes up as the address/and numbers...please can you help???

I've been on a roll, sometimes more than 20 mins a day, I'm finally getting my mojo back. 20 mins is easy enough to do, I really didn't feel like doing anything the other night and I realised I hadn't done my 20 mins that day, so I forced myself to do just a few stitches and two hours later I looked at the clock and it was nearly midnight. WOW, its been a long time since I lost track of time like that.
I'm having the same problem as Jude, I can get the addy up but not the piccy.

Well I plan to make 100 puppets in a year, and a puppet takes at least 3 hours to make, so I need to be doing at least this 20 minutes (in fact, probably over twice this) to make the target! Its a lovely idea to support each other and I hope I'm not too late to join in.

When I've not done anything very creative for the day but it has got too late to think I have been knitting egg cosies. Switch brain off and pick needles up. NO idea what I'm going to do with them but they have been usefully using up all those odd little end balls of wool I seem to have.
Made a picnic cushion the other day for a birthday present which I willblog about soon.

Hi- I just happened upon this blog by finding the link on another blog.. Anyway, I would love to join- what an awesome idea! It is rare that I do not work on something for at least 20 minutes a day- I feel lost without busy hands... Is there still room for one more?
