Bunny Building for the Future.

I'm not one for New Years resolutions as such, after all no one ever keeps them do they? But I started the year with the desire to make a change.
No more PROCRASTINATION!
How much time have I wasted in the past putting things off that really when it came down to it weren't all that difficult to do. How many times have I not known what to make, so I've made nothing! Sound familiar? Well I will do my best to change that this year.

So far I have done a really big thing. Something that I usually put off and put off and put off, sometimes for months!
I made an appointment for a check up at the dentist!
Don't laugh! It's not THAT funny.
No, on a more serious note, I've already applied for...well I won't say how many...but more than a couple of craft/art fairs. I don't mean a little table in the local school hall kind of craft fair. I mean Yarndale-size 3-day event craft fairs!
Well it seemed like a good idea at the time... my little fingers quite willingly tippety tapped on my keyboard filling in the application forms. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to pay for them yet though as they all want paying up front in the next few weeks even though the events may not be until the end of the year.
And of course there is the big question of what shall I make for them?
Actually you could maybe help me with that. What do you like to see at craft fairs? What draws you over to a stand for a closer look?
Anyhow, with my new anti-procrastination rule and the need to earn some money to pay for the craft fairs I've knuckled down to bunny making! Ok they're not new but I thought it best to just get on and make SOMETHING rather than do the P word. So until inspiration strikes I'll be bunnying!
Creativity creates creativity...
hopefully!

I'll keep you posted ;)

Making bunnies for market day.

Hello all. It's been a while since I made bunnies but I have a craft fair in a couple of weeks and I often get asked for these beautiful bunnies so I thought I'd be a good girl and get cracking.
I really should be making felt as I have 4 commissions to do but I'm just not in the mood. That sounds awful doesn't it but I know they won't turn out right if I not in the right mood to do them. Let cross our fingers and hope the mood returns...very soon!
Now bunnies...that's a different kettle of fish so to speak. Bunnies are pretty much just following my pattern although I have been tweaking their ears. Not in a nasty way you understand, I would never hurt a bunny but I must admit their ears are very fiddle-some. 'There must be an easier way!' I said to myself.
So after experimenting on 4 sets of bunny ears I think I've come up with a better way of doing it, I just need to alter my patten pieces and have a couple more goes to see if my plan works.
So you can be assured there will be more bunnies in the pipeline or should I say in the basket. These four are awaiting their heart embroidered tails.
And here they all are finished and posing nicely for their photographs to be taken ready for my Etsy shop.

OO! Nearly forgot to tell you. I now have a Marmaladerose Facebook page here for anyone who prefers fb!

Till next time

Vintage Linen Bunnies.

Ssssh! Don't tell anyone but I shouldn't really be here now!
I mean here blogging...
No I've finished putting these yummy bunnies together...
And I should reeaaally be putting together a felt handbag!
I've cut out the pieces, honest...
but I just couldn't resist popping by to show you these....
Two little cuties!
Heading to my Etsy shop shortly, I really have neglected my online shops this year but I'm going to make a concerted effort to keep at least one of them stocked.
OK! OK!
I'm coming back! Tut!
There's a piece of felt tapping me on my shoulder.

Till next time

Thank you giveaway.

GIVEAWAY TIME!
Hello all. At last it's giveaway time. YAY! It's my way of saying thank you for taking time to read my little blog and especially for leaving all of your lovely comments. Don't underestimate the power of a kind word, I don't share my 'down' times on my blog as this is my happy place. This is the only little corner I have any control over and I like to keep it as rose-tinted as possible but recently small parts of my life have been unfairly 'overcast', so to tippety-tap into blogland and have such lovely feedback from you all has been a real tonic. I appreciate the time you take out of your busy day to say a few kind words that make my days so special. Yep, you make me smile, you make me chuckle but most of all you make me feel that my craft and artwork has value. Thank you.
So I've made something especially for this giveaway.
One of my most popular 'makes' but this one is a little different.
I hope you like her as much as my normal embroidered bunnies. She's made from the most gorgeous Sanderson fabric. I discovered a small piece folded up in the bottom of a basket and quickly snaffled it up as if it was a Faberge egg at a car boot sale.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning this pretty bunny is to leave a comment at the bottom of this post. Simple, just let me know you'd like to re-home this bunny. There are no hoops to jump through.

Best be sharpish if you fancy your very own Easter Bunny!
I'm not telling you how long you have ;)
Once again thank you all.

Hens-a-Helping.

Hello once again from beautiful Yorkshire. I love this view. When I see this view I relax as it means our journey is almost over and our little village is only a couple of 'bends' away.
Today I wanted share a bit of Springtime sunshine with you and see who'd been helping out in the garden. Yes today the stars of the show have to be our hens!
They're very conscientious and hard working, helping to turn over the soil in the veg beds.
They think nothing of giving the shed the once over to make sure all is in order.
Whilst all the time putting others needs before their own. This is Cluck who has very kindly put her dust bathing in damp mud on hold to spend some quality time with Wonderful Man and make sure he's not over doing it in the garden.

Here she is having a little cuddle. It's a good job he doesn't mind a bit of muck! Grubby, muddy hen.
Times up! That's enough. Must get back to work! Now just for that tricky dismount...
 Whoops! lol.
As for me...well I was busy too. More pretty bunnies taking shape.
These two are now somewhere deep in the USA.
.
I haven't forgotten my little giveaway. I still haven't decided what it will be yet. Easter is fast approaching though so that just might make up my mind for me.
