I was thinking just the same thing when I walked Lily through feils covered with cob webs touched by dew and beauitful conkers scattered on the ground. We try our hardest but good old mother nature does it far better.
Good view of Hawes church too Fiona! Love the horse chestnuts - there seem to be plenty of them about this year - no doubt yesterday's gale brought them all to the ground. Hope you are all well.
Ah, there's nothing like a shiny conker, safely swaddled in its "shell" (does the "shell" have a proper name?) Hi Fi, about the doorstop. We put 1kg of rice into ours but I would say it could do with a smidgeon more to be completely full but my sister was happy with it like that, a bit squidgy. Obviously, it would depend on the size of your doorstop; the base of the one I made was about 6" square. Hen xxx
I'm afraid the boys were ahead of me and cleared the ground of all the horse chestnuts. Little darlings left the acorns alone so gathered them to display indoors.
I could not agree with you more. Nature really is awesome, all aspects of it. I wonder are there fairies dancing around those mushroom by the light of the full moon, I'd like to believe so...xox

Have a lovely week.
I completely agree - this time of year is truely gorgeous - coughs, colds and germs aside....!
Totally agree. So many people dash by and don't notice it though. xxx
The Autumn is truly a magical time of the year. x
