Hello, hello, hello!
I must just say a big thank you for the great comments you all took the time to leave. They're really helpful. Crafting can be a very solitary most of the time, so its great to have someone there to ask, 'Hey, pink or blue? Good or bad? which looks best?'
Do you know what I mean? Anyway-thank you x
Would you believe this is my 99th post! Nope, me neither but it is. You know what that means don't you?
It means the next post will be a giveaway post! Hoooray! (Now I didn't say when the next post would be. It might be in 6 months time to give myself chance to get organised with a prize! ONLY JOKING! ha, ha)
Now onto something completely different... which is what I'm good at; doing something completely different to what I should really be doing!
I was blog hopping and saw the lovely little crochet flowers that Hen has been making. Hen got the pattern from Lucy and although I've not really felt the need to make crochet flowers, I popped over to Attic24 to take a look. Well one thing led to another and before I knew it, I had a little flower. This one above.
But then I thought...hmmm, what would happen if I changed a htr for a dc and this was the result. Almost the same but a subtle little point to the petals.
Then I thought...hmmm, what would happen if I changed a htr for a tr and a dc, which then gave me a flower with a slightly squarer petal.
Then I thought...hmmm, what would happen if I crocheted into the front of the previous row of stitches only, and this happened. It caused the petals to curl inwards.
Here it is side on so you can see it curling upwards.
Then I thought... OOO! Lets change colours. Looks a bit like a little Primula or am I thinking of an Auricular?
Then I thought... what would happen if I crocheted into the back of the stitch on the previous row. If you look carefully you can see a little circular edge around the centre.
Then I remembered what I should really be doing!
Best sign off now and go and get on with it!
Bye x

Hi,
What a fun post! I've been fiddling with different versions of crochet flowers too, it's easy to get a bit carried away isn't it?! The snow looks wonderful. We have bright sunshine here in London today but its still very cold with a sharp frost.
Have a great weekend,
Hen x
Love the flowers! It all sounds very comlicated. I am so sick of snow, we had a bit earlier in the week and I was delighted when it wouldn't settle :-S

I know what you mean. I should be giving the dogs their dinner now, that's what Paddy thinks anyway.
Love the photos.
The views look lovely I must show my husband.
I've just come from looking at Lucy's flowers, and I thought that's just what I need for a rescued blanket that I saved to make into a cushion. But my head is full of other ideas at the moment to try first.
Maybe I should be doing some of the things I want to make instead of seeing what everyone else is up to.
But it's lovely visiting everyone. I'll just have to learn to crochet/sew whilst on the computer. Not easy I think, especially when commenting!
Have a happy day. Let us know how the knitting in class goes won't you.
'Whew, at last says Paddy, my tummy's rumbling.'
Love your flowers.
I was given a very lovely crochet flowers book recently..I must blog it next week!!
Have a good weekend ;-)
Isn't it interesting how that flower developed Rose? Good to know there is someone crafting up there in Hawes. Come through Hawes regularly on my way to visit my god-daughter in Sedbergh - also have friends there, so often walk the high street (and shop in Whites and Elijahs) maybe we have met sometime and don't know it.
Your flowers are cute, not that I have a clue what any of the stitches mean. My has shown how to do a granny square but I couldn't find a pattern to save m y life.
The snow looks lovely but come on spring we want you now. :)
The flowers are lovely. I wonder what they would look like if you added them to a piece of felt rather then a pre-felted flower...... Guess what I am going to try this weekend!! I have lots of 'Lucy' flowers too!
have a lovely weekend.
Popping up again fiona - to say do you blog with Sal's snippets? If not do go and look at her site as her craft work seems on your wavelength.
Have just read your comments and see that you already have contact with Sal - I do like her work, do you?
Very pretty flowers.
The view you have is brilliant, I look out onto a boring house! no hills, no fields!
I did enjoy the snow but now I am looking forward to getting out in the garden.
Have a good week,
Carol xx
Love the Snowy pics. You are so lucky to live in such beautiful suroundings, with those lovely hills. We've had a fair bit of the white stuff lately here in Somerset too. Nice post :o)

Glad I'm not the only one to go off at a tangent at a moments notice. Very pretty flowers. I'm thinking you must have tons of patience.
I love your flowers - I only bought one bit of vintage linen! There is a lovely tablecloth in the big charity down Rosemary Lane its very deco with big circles on it for 95p - worth it just for the linen! but I waited alomost 10 minutes for someone to serve and as I wanted the loo - I just had to leave it!! I know I must take some pics - need to clean the shower again - it was gleaming last time I took pics now I find they don't appear to be on the camera.
Crocheted Auricula's now that has craze written all over it!!!!!
Auricula's are related to primula's but they are more vintagey lovely looking ( in my opinion...)
You are a clever little sausage aren't you!? As our weather cools down I can see myself picking up a crochet hook and experimenting with some flowers of my own...yay! Bye for now x
Oh My goodness! LOVING bothe the crochet little flowers and the gorgeous snowy pics. I've only seen snow once my entire life! We don't get here much in oz. :)

The flowers are gorgeous. I love the scenery outside your home. The snow looks so lovely.

oo glad you like the teeny tiny flowers!
I've just been trying to make a pansy flower from a new book, and boy has it tested my crochet skills (triple-trebles?? Eh???). Patterns can be sooo complicated!
fun though, and yes, very diverting.
See ya soon Mrs, can't wait for you to come to town!
