Woolly Toadstool and a Wink

Well I thought I was on the mend but apparently not...but we won't dwell on it, I'll just apologise for my absence, I'm feeling much more myself now so we're back to normal bloggy service...hopefully. As you can see above Gilbert the Gnome has now been machine embroidered and finished with a little hand embroidery.
I enjoyed creating this little toadstool.

I'm just waiting for a delivery of red spotty lining fabric to make Gilbert into a bag for Hilary. I may be waiting a bit longer than usual as there is a lot of snow about here in the hills.

Somebody else who seems to be a bit under the weather...Cluck. Poor old girl. Wonderful Man brought her in from the cold today to see if we can perk her up a bit. We've left her next to the radiator in the kitchen huddled down in a bundle looking very sorry for herself.
Fingers crossed she'll soon be feeling better.
I hope you are all keeping cosy and taking care in the ice.

love Fi x

I can imagine it looks as lovely where you are as it does here. We have lost a couple of inches over the past day but more is due later today. At the moment it's -2 outside!!! Cold enough to freeze the you-know-what's of a you-know-what!
Keep warm, keep getting better, and LOVE that gnome!

Hi Fi. I was up your way last week [on my blog] but thankfully no snow then. Love your little gnome.
Why not join in the fun on my blog today....I'm sure he would put a smile on many faces then :-)

Yes, the snow is much the same here Fiona - looks much prettier than it feels if you are out in it.
Love that gnome.
Keep warm - the farmer has had the bug and has had the most awful cough which will not go away. Hope youare soon better/

You live in the nicest spot in the world I reckon Fi! Simply beautiful. I can imagine a bit grim in winter though not to mention cold.
Love the gnome and the toadstool.

ithffed 2335Is that photo taken at Hawes. It looks very like a photo I took some years ago, but without the snow and with a torrent pouring down. We have had about 5 inches of snow here, so we are tucked in in front of the fire. Your gnome would put a smile on anyone's face. Thank you for sharing him with us. xx Maggie PS did you know you have the Word Verification turned on - it is impossible to read.

Sorry to hear you have not been well - things seem to be difficult to shift this year for some reason. I hope your gorgeous little chook is feeling better too - it's always worrying when a pet is ill as they can not tell us the problem. Hope you are still enjoying the snow x

Hope you and the poor hen are feeling better soon. We're having a bit of snow to here in the North East so keep warm!

That's a very impish looking gnome - your work is beautiful. As is your part of the world - that's a lovely shot of the stream in the snow. And I think I've seen everything now - the dog doesn't look too sure what to do about that chicken in a box - thanks for sharing :) Elizabeth xx

Whenever you do your felt work, it is like you are doing it just for me because everyone you do is everything I love. Have been thinking of starting some myself, nothing like yours just little things. The snow is lovely but I can imagine how dangerous it can be (and cold). Hope cluck gets better poor little lady but it looks like if Sneaky dog has anything to do with it, she will get better.
xx Sandi

Gilbert is looking wonderful. Oh poor Cluck, hope the warmth has done the trick. Wonderful snowy photos, think it will be cold for a little while longer, stay safe and keep warm.
