Peg bag.

Well one thing is for sure. I won't be needing my peg bag today. Far too wet here. Actually this isn't my peg bag. This is one I've made for my best friend. She requested an old fashioned, traditional one. Thinking about it, she didn't request one at all. She just dropped a rather large hint that she couldn't find one anywhere. Hint HINT! Love her to bits.

I bought the fabric months ago, while we were having a day out together at Embsay Craft Mill, near Skipton. I always think of my best friend when I think of Embsay. She introduced me to the joy of Embsay! Part of the building is devoted to paper crafts, another to quilting fabrics, another to beads and cross stitch kits and then a corner to knitting wool, and then slap bang in the middle is a cafe with sofas and newspapers where you can leave your husband. Very civilised!
I'll leave you with a picture of some bits from my scrap bag. I've been ferreting away all the little bits of embroidered linen that are left over from my bunnies. I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but I just couldn't bare to throw them away.

I'll show you what I've done with them soon, but I promised to show a very nice lady called Jane what I've made first though. Just waiting for a little delivery first. (Gosh! I've made it sound far more intriguing than it really is.)
Thank you for all the 'birthday cake' love.

That's a lovely waterfall, how great to have one in your village! The peg bag is so pretty, funny how the fabrics we buy for no particular reason suddenly are perfect for a project!

I have seen that waterfall in all its moods Fiona and it never fails to thrill.
Love the peg bag - are you making them for sale? If so I will order one!
Were round your neck of the woods on Sunday when we walked the Ribblehead viaduct in the pouring rain - would have called but were soaking wet.

I always love when you take us out for a tour. I'll have to visit the craft mill in Skipton - I have not been to Skipton for ages.

I do love the waterfall, wish I lived in a village sometimes. Lovely pag bag, mine has been very busy this summer..as soon as I finish hanging the washing out...down comes the rain again, we are in and out more times than I care to count...I have given up now and just hang it indoors!
Looking forward to seeing your creation.

I love your photos and think its wonderful that you still stop to see the treasures on your own doorstep - and thankyou for sharing, it looks so very pretty...as does your peg bag - do you know of a pattern for one? My own is dropping to bits and I sure could do with making a new one!

Now I need a peg bag like that (and some sunshine to go with it I think)!

And I should take all the photos I liked if I lived in such a lovely spot. Know what you mean though, I feel odd taking local photos too but its good to appreciate and celebrate your own backyard I think.

Have a lovely weekend.

It's far too long since my last visit so I'm having a catch up. What a glorious photo of the waterfall, and I don't blame you at all for taking the photos.

I'm dying to see what you have made out of those gorgeous little scraps of fabric. I can never throw any fabric away or even one button. I have trouble throwing away chocolate and sweet wrappers!!

It's a lovely peg bag, such bright, joyful fabric too. I dropped similar hints to my daughter in law who then made one for me!

Thank you for noticing the local beauty and taking photos so those of us in other locales can enjoy it too!

I'm intrigued about those embroidered scraps...

I love the photograph and knew exactly where it was as soon as I saw it. I spent most of my childhood staying with family friends in the village. It is somewhere I intend on taking my children during the holidays. My sister doesnt live all that far from you .
Do you sell your craft things?
By the way I have just found your blog from Attic 24 and will be back.
