And the Winners are....

Hello my lovelies.
Well...What an overwhelming response to my little give away. Quite a surprise really as my blog posts over the last 12 months have been a bit a hit and miss and I thought you must have all got fed up of waiting around, teehee. I should have known better, what a loyal lot you are.

Thank you for all of your lovely comments, I enjoyed reading every single one of them. It was especially nice to hear from so many of you who already own a piece of my work. I take it the felt handbags are holding up well and the wall art still raises a smile each day? I do hope so ;)

Firstly I must just give you the link for 'embroidery' magazine as I know it was requested and it really is a fabulous publication. If you like textile art, this it the cream of the crop, I really feel honoured to have my work in it.

Secondly, Lillian, I'm sorry there is nothing in my Etsy shop, I am trying honestly. It's just that I never seem to be able to make enough! I am hoping to at least have some cushions available in there at some point this year. I have been working hard, as well as exploring digitally printed fabric I'm also in the middle of trying to find someone who can make some prints of my work. Not as easy as it sound as textiles are not easy to reproduce, you seem to lose the texture and vitality so it's all a bit up in the air at the moment.  I  also have my first event of 2015 on the horizon...
The Designer Makers Market at the Witham in Barnard Castle, County Durham. This is to be held on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, it's a great event with the best craftspeople in the region selling their own high quality pieces. Honestly, I'm sure I only just scraped in ;)

Right! I won't keep you waiting any longer.
A drum roll pleeeease....
For the first prize of the 'Violet Hare' cushion cover, a copy of 'embroidery' magazine and one of my little hand embroidered felt brooches (everything in the picture at the top of the post). The winner is comment number...
121...Marty!
"Seven years -- congratulations! I love your work, which I have been admiring for the past four years. Your felted wall hangings (especially the hares) are exquisite!

The second prize of a copy of 'embroidery' magazine and one of my little hand embroidered felt brooches (pictured below)
Is comment number...
50...Leslie A

"Thank you for thinking of us in such a nice way! Congrats on 7 years."

Thankyou to everyone who left a comment.  I wish I could send you all a little gift but I think the postage would bankrupt me!
To Marty and Leslie, I'll email you shortly to arrange delivery of your goodies.

Till Next time

Anniversary Give Away Time!

GIVE AWAY NOW CLOSED
23-03-15

Hello all. As per usual I'm playing catch up and to be honest I think that's the way it's likely to be for the rest of this year. It's either catch up or no blog posts at all.

I do keep toying with the idea of taking a break from my blog as I struggle to find the time to post. On the other hand it would be like losing the Rose from the Marmalade, as to me you are all as much a part of MarmaladeRose as I am. Without you lot out there and this blog, there would be no MarmaladeRose, the very thing that has spawned my little business.

Can you believe we've been sharing creative ideas and chatting for SEVEN years! Seven years this week in fact!

Well, we can't let a seventh anniversary pass with marking it somehow so I thought I'd have a little give away, in fact two give aways. You'll have spied the brand new MarmaladeRose cushion at the top of the page, well this is my first prototype cushion cover that I have made using a digital print of my original felt work, on fabric. When I get my act together a selection of cushions showing prints of some of my original felt art will be available, probably later this year.
I have to add this cover isn't perfect as I was so excited when the print arrived that I made the cushion using a remnant of green check fabric for the back instead of waiting to source faux suede to compliment the front but if you don't look at the back it's quite passable. So... I thought I'd give away this cushion cover (you'd need to provide your own cushion inner)

I also happen to have received a couple of spare copies of the March/April issue of 'Embroidery, the Textile Art Magazine'.
Such a super-lovely magazine, full of the most beautiful textile art and embroidery that you could ever wish to see. So much gorgeousness on every page, I know you'll all love it. Well I'm not quite sure how I managed it but...
 I seem to have
wangled a spot
on page 25!

Honestly, I didn't bribe anyone! There was no hard cash or chocolate changing hands... I swear!

Anyway the lovely people at 'Embroidery' have sent me a couple of copies, so I thought I'd share them with you.
I have two copies going spare, so there will be two winners. I thought I'd also add one of my little hand felted and embroidered brooches too.
So to sum up...

All you have to do to enter the give away is leave a comment below making sure there is some way for me to contact you (no contact link, no prize).
I'll only count one entry per person so leaving duplicate comments won't count cos I'm strict like that. ;)
I'll use a random number generator to choose the winner.

The first person picked will win the cushion cover, the magazine and a brooch.

The second person picked will win the magazine and a brooch.

You have until my next blog post (I have no idea when that's going to be) to enter. So what are you waiting for? Spit-spot, seize the moment!

Till next time

Giveaway results and what's coming next!

Hello from my corner of the sofa. Actually the whole sofa is mine, Wonderful Man has is own at the other side of the room (His corner is nowhere near as interesting as mine though). I'm sure you would have guessed that this is my corner anyway, I think the half made bunnies and baskets of wool are a sure giveaway, lol. This is just how I left it when I got up to go to bed last night and I just thought you might like to see it. Maybe we should have a 'my corner' post now and again and all share our respective comfy places and all the junk that goes with them.
Now before we do the very important job of revealing the winner of my bunny giveaway I just want to tell you that next time you visit we will be climbing these old stone steps and exploring a brand new arts and crafts gallery that has just opened here in Wensleydale.
I'll also be introducing you to my latest piece of embroidered felt which, funnily enough is now for sale in the above gallery. See! It's not just thrown together this blog, lol.
So without further ado, bunny and I have counted and recounted and then counted several more times all the way to 91 skipping the comment that I left and a couple of duplicate entries from folks who forgot to leave their names the first time or hit the submit button twice. I do like everything to be fair and above board, lol.
The winner is the lovely Sandi from Sandiart's Blog
Congratulations Sandi I'll be emailing you for your address shortly. To everyone else who took the time to tippety type me a lovely comment, thank you so much. I read every single one of them and wish I had a bunny for each of you but that would be a heck of a lot of bunny ears to stitch on (my least favourite part). It was lovely to hear from you all and especially nice to hear from a few of you who've been reading my blog for a long time but never left a comment, that's it now you know, there will be no stopping you, now you've done it once, lol.
Thank you all. A blog is nothing without it's readers.
See you next time for our day out at the new gallery.

Thank you giveaway.

GIVEAWAY TIME!
Hello all. At last it's giveaway time. YAY! It's my way of saying thank you for taking time to read my little blog and especially for leaving all of your lovely comments. Don't underestimate the power of a kind word, I don't share my 'down' times on my blog as this is my happy place. This is the only little corner I have any control over and I like to keep it as rose-tinted as possible but recently small parts of my life have been unfairly 'overcast', so to tippety-tap into blogland and have such lovely feedback from you all has been a real tonic. I appreciate the time you take out of your busy day to say a few kind words that make my days so special. Yep, you make me smile, you make me chuckle but most of all you make me feel that my craft and artwork has value. Thank you.
So I've made something especially for this giveaway.
One of my most popular 'makes' but this one is a little different.
I hope you like her as much as my normal embroidered bunnies. She's made from the most gorgeous Sanderson fabric. I discovered a small piece folded up in the bottom of a basket and quickly snaffled it up as if it was a Faberge egg at a car boot sale.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning this pretty bunny is to leave a comment at the bottom of this post. Simple, just let me know you'd like to re-home this bunny. There are no hoops to jump through.
II
Best be sharpish if you fancy your very own Easter Bunny!
I'm not telling you how long you have ;)
Once again thank you all.

Giveaway winner.

Hello, I'm just back from spending a couple of days with my parents in East Yorkshire. You can tell what we spent most of our time doing can't you, lol.
This was my little area of the dining table. (well actually I took up most of the dining table.) Yes most of the stuff on that table was mine, I don't travel light when it comes craft stuff, lol. I had the most lovely couple of days, just my parents and me (wonderful man was at work) catching up, sharing our news, just spending time together. This is my Dad working on his Hardanger embroidery. All the centers of those little squares will be cut out at the end leaving a lacy open effect. Not bad for a gentleman in his 70's. My mum is completing a cross stitch height chart for new a baby so sssh, don't tell anyone it's a surprise. Beautiful isn't it and such a lot of work.

While I was hand embroidering some new brooches. But I'll show you more of those another time, we've got more important things to do now like... finding out who has won my giveaway!

And the winner is...Luthaisea who will receive one of these pretty brooches.
Congratulations sweetie and thank you to everyone who left a comment, I wish I could send you all a brooch but I think I'd need a second mortgage for all of the postage, lol.
Instead I think I'll try and squeeze in another giveaway before Christmas.

I can't say fairer than that can I.

Drum-roll...The winner is...

Hello all, I hope you've had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and that the weather in your corner of the globe was kind to you.

I've been out and about this weekend, visiting village shows and fetes and generally pottering about at home, bliss! My favourite kind of weekend.

I've entered raffles, rummaged in jumble, drooled over cake stalls, sampled local beers, winced at hot chilli chutneys, stroked rare sheep and best of all partaken of tea and cakes! Yummy! You can't beat an English village fete!
.
The loveliest day I've had this week though was Thursday. Wonderful Man and I were invited to lunch by Sue and Neil at their beautiful home.

Sue and Neil are very new friends to us, in fact we only met about 2 months ago when WM and I were shopping in the next town. I was perusing vegetables when a lady stopped me and said, "Hello, are you..."

It was at this point I was thinking to myself, 'Wow this lady is going to be so embarrassed when she realises she doesn't know me at all.'

But do you know what... she did know me!

"Hello, are you...MarmaladeRose?"

Yes, I was a little bit surprised too, but in a nice way. Anyway to cut a long story short we found we had mutual bloggy friends and a few weeks later a lunch date was arranged.

Here's Wonderful Man and Neil taking in...

this spectacular view.

Gorgeous isn't it!

We had a delicious home made lunch sat in their cosy kitchen enjoying this gorgeous scenery, and then relaxed even more in front of a cosy fire complete with chocolate and a purring cat. Hmmmmmm...luuuuurverly.

Thank you very much Sue and Neil for a truly lovely afternoon.

All to soon it was time to go home although I did say, "We really ought to be making a move" about 4 times before I actually managed to drag myself up off their comfortable sofa.

.

Okay I've kept you all waiting long enough. Shall we see who has won my giveaway?

I've counted and recounted (4 times actually) and not including multiple comments from the same people I declare....

(fanfare!)

Country Girl at Life on the East Coast the winner of my Cherry on Top bunting!

Thank you to everyone who left a comment, I enjoyed reading each and every one. In fact I enjoyed this giveaway so much that I'm going to have another one very soon, it was sooo much fun!

So Country Girl, I'll be contacting you shortly sweetie :)

Thank to all of you for making it such fun.

Hang out the Bunting! 200th Post Give Away!

Hello all, today is all about bunting!
Quite appropriate really as this is my 200th post!
So....Lets hang out the bunting to celebrate!

I wonder if Sandi will recognise the little teacups that I have appliqued and then free motioned around? (some months ago Sandi generously sent me a bundle of beautiful teacup fabrics all the way from Oz saying 'she wondered what I would do with them!')

Well I hope she approves.

I think they would look scrummy hanging in someones pretty kitchen or across the front of a country dresser.

Look, once I got started I couldn't stop. 2 sets of teacup bunting and 2 sets of rose bunting. All very girly of course, but that got me thinking...what about the boys?

So here is a something a little more masculine but just as cute for them.
Camper van bunting!

Well so far that's bunting for the girls and bunting for the boys and now here's some bunting for YOU!
Yes, as this is my 200th post I thought a little celebration bunting giveaway would be in order to say thank you for your support and friendship. It never ceases to amaze me how generous and caring our little blogging community is. Your always there with a kind word or encouragement and you always, always make me chuckle!

If you fancy some MarmaladeRose bunting for your dresser or kitchen or childrens bedroom or...anywhere else for that matter, just leave a comment at the bottom of this post. Couldn't be simpler!
(Don't forget to make sure I can contact you if you're the lucky one.)
I'll pick the winner in a weeks time.

Love Fi x
.
P.S. Please note the bunting on offer is the pink and green cherry-on-top (food) design.
