Oh! Thank you so much for all the lovely, funny comments you left on my last post. You did make me laugh! You're truly a bunch of nutters!
This was our Saturday morning.
A drive to Aysgarth Falls for a little fresh air. That's Wonderful Man down there at the wet end.
The previous evening had been spent with a house full of teenagers (#1's 17th birthday celebrations) so we felt we needed to escape for an hour or so. (I can't understand how I have a 17 year old, after all I'm only 27! cough! cough!)
And as you can see we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Bliss! (I wasn't going to mention it, but we also had a scrummy lunch at the National Parks Centre where we had left the car. Well it would have been rude not to!)

I found it quite unexpectedly in a box of lace and fabric from an auction. When I unrolled it I found all the original silks safely inside. It's previous owner had only completed a part of one corner, so I thought I would try and carry on with it.
Although I've had it for months now, it's never been fished out of the bag so often. I find it's the ideal project when I get to the end of the day and still haven't managed to do any sewing. This particular photo was taken while snuggled up in bed. A little embroidery and I feel I've done my bit, can't let the side down, can I!

What stunning scenery you have near you! I know what you mean about only being 27 I have been 25 twice and am well on my way to the third but inside I am still wondering what to be when I grow up!
I am so very glad you suggested the 20 minute thing - I don't always manage 20 mins EVERY day but over all it works out that way and I am well pleased with it. It's a bit like Weightwatchers for the creative isn't it and having to show and tell now and then makes one get on with something and creativity begets more creativity doesn't it.

I love a good waterfall... and thats a lovely spot... and a yummy meal is just the ticket...
I am loving your embroidery... once I get my bedroom sorted out i think I will have a sewing or crochet project by my side of the bed!... I may need more pillows and cushions though... lol

What a wonderful break to take, it's gorgeous. I really miss walking in scenery like that, it just isn't the same over here. One day I shall make it back. I love your embroidery, it's very pretty. How great that all of the silks were still in there.
My eldest "little" boy is 29 this year......arrrgh! Where do the years go? I love the embroidery that is my sort of embroidery.
Hi Fi. I have only just realised there is a 20 minuters button to pop onto our blogs..durr! Loved my read through your posts - on a bit of a catch up, but great to see all you have done. Definitely enjoying being part of this club x
20-Minutes-A-Day has taken on a life of it's own. Your Wonderful Idea ! ! !
It certainly puts our creative time to the front of our minds. I'll bet lots of 'creations' will result from these 20 Minutes these year.
Certainly long enough period to form 20-Minutes as a habit we'll keep well past the end of our year.
Love your embroidery. Makes me want to get out my Floss.
Wish I was rambling along with you. Such a beautiful escape. The embroidery is looking good. Now if I would just take about 20 minutes today, MINE would be finished - finally.
What a lovely day you had!! I love the embroidery, it's beautiful!
Glad your twenty minute thing is going so well Fi - isn't it marvellous how bloggers respond?
Beautiful waterfall! And I am so glad that you ofound the half embroiudered piece and are finishing it up. My grandmother used to make pretty embroidered tea towels and other lovely things.
Well, I certainly can't spell or type today! sorry about that.
what a lovely walk and some gorgeous pics. The embroidery is just sweet.

We loved Aysgarth when we lived in the UK. How lovely to see it again (although obviously we still get to see it when the boys watch Robin Hood Prince of Thieves - they always ask: 'have we really been there'?)
I love the idea of finishing old embroideries. I have a bag of old semi-finished patchwork but I'm afraid I don't like the artificial fabrics used much, which means I will probably never finish the original maker's work.
The waterfall is wonderful, you are so lucky to live near such beautiful scenery and somewhere good for lunch for nearby even better. Your embroidery is very pretty and very satisfying I guess to do.

Curious now, where is Aysgarth then? I thought it was going to be something to do with Lord of the Rings! Lovely sewing too. I am thoroughly enjoying my twenty minutes/hour a day.
Our Yorkshire cousins once lived in an Aysgarth Road and now I know where the name comes from. It looks stunning.
I'm also intrigued that you're finishing off someone else's embroidery; I wonder who they were and why they didn't finish it. I also wonder whether someone will complete all my unfinished projects in 40 years time!!!
That's so pretty, your embroidery is lovely!
Such lovely pics too :)
