Hello, would you like to join us for the ride to Kendal?
The hills you can see are called The Howgills Fells.
The hills you can see are called The Howgills Fells.
I thought you might enjoy the scenery.
We're just popping out to do some shopping.
There's Kendal in the distance.
Now then, I'm not going to bore you with lots of pictures of town centre shops. I thought I'd just show you the most important one we'll be visiting today. It's the blue shop on the left called Reticule

Oh my gosh! That was fantastic!! Thanks so much for the drive - and the shopping was equally wonderful. Nothing like that around these parts...
Do you think the owners of the home in the third picture would mind it I stayed with them for a while? :o)
That was a lovely ride! Thanks for inviting us along. I envy you those beautiful, uncrowded roadways.
What a lovely ride! And what a fantastic shop at the end of it. How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful area and I'm sure that your children will have many fond memories of the school ride when they are older and look back at their childhood even if they don't appreciate it right now!

what a fab trip, and that shop looks wonderful... our yarn shop has closed and all we have for fabric and haberdashery is a department store... their selection is tiny..
I wish my impending school run was going to be as pretty... all the hedges around here are high and you don't see very much apart from the the road ahead...
thanks for sharing

You are lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the country.

I just looked it up on the AA route planner to see how far Kendal is from me - 184.4 miles, 3 hours and 19 minutes. I wonder if I can talk hubby into driving that far to visit that shop? I doubt it!
Oh well, I'll just live vicariously through your posts - until I can persuade him! :o)
What a beautiful drive you had. Love looking at the countryside. And then the treat of button, bows and beads to follow. My favorite three Bs.
I really enjoyed that little trip to Kendal. It didn't take long from Devon either!
That's the beauty of blogging, isn't it?
Have a great weekend ;-)
Oh thank you for taking us along on your trip to town and shopping...I just love seeing your countryside...and what a lovely shop you showed us,,,
wow, i love your village and the center of town..
lovely store..
thanks for taking us along..
I do that journey to Sedbergh often Fiona and it never ceases to thrill me. I have been known to mentally write a poem on the way and then pull into that huge, pot-holed car park just before you drop down into townto write it down! Don't know that shop though - shall have to look for it next time I am in Kendal.
Lovely, thank you for the ride.
Lovely shop as well - perfect for all those crafting needs.
oh , i would have come to that shop with you, oooh buttons and beads and fabric too! delicious!
Yep, that looks like my Kind of shop, any Cherries in amongst those beads???

Oh, I LOVED taking this little trip with you to the store. Wish I could drive it for real. And also would love to pop in to Reticule.
I really enjoyed the shopping! Its a treat to see your gorgeous landscapes also. Thanks for taking us along...=)
Oh I just loved accompanying you on your shopping trip. What stunning scenery. Your little village looks wonderful too. And as for that shop! wow, it's just drool making! There's one like it near my son's house in Bury St Edmunds and I try and pop there when I can - and try not to buy too much. A lovely trip with smashing photos. xxx
