Hello, hello, hello. Just a quickie as it's nearly my bedtime.
At the weekend wonderful man and I had a little jaunt to Leyburn.
This is the view from Leyburn Shawl, so named because history has is that Mary Queen of Scots dropped her shawl here as she was escaping from Bolton Castle 5 miles away. This is just the start from Leyburn, one day we'll walk the full 5 miles to Bolton Castle and take lots of pics. (oh you lucky people!!!)
Back in Leyburn, I thought you might like to see Serendipity's Christamassy window.(Yes I know we haven't had Halloween yet, yada, yada, yada)
What do you think? Pretty eh? Getting you in the Christmassy mood eh?
Yeah, me too.
Well that's just about it from me, I told you it was a quickie.
I'll leave you with a little something I've been cooking up for this gorgeous cake plate. I snaffled it up at the charity shop for a couple of pounds.
Fabulous, but it needs a little something...

What a fantastic bargain.... I would like a cake plate like that, I think I might have to visit the Sherborne charity shops you get a much better standard of charity in Sherborne!
Go on get those boots on, and get snap happy!
Cheers Alex
Hi Fi,
What beautiful Christmas windows, the decorations are starting to appear in lots of the big department stores here in Australia too. Love the covered cake plate.

What a lovely post...I love the Christmas window!!!
hi there I love Serendipity. I remember when it used to be a lovely old fashioned department store called Berry's. They used to have the most gorgeous linen union esconds and roll ends. I once covered a two seater setter in William Morris Linen Union, and when I made curtains for people took a lady with the biggest windows I have ever seen and she got a lilac Sanderson fabric that made your mouth water - I think she got about 40 metres for about £5 per metre. We had all the lengths out pattern matching them in the shop for about 2 hours and nobody minded. I like going in there now and then finding similar things for half the price or in a charity. Have a look at my bargain table!
