Miniature floral art.

I think it's about time I apologised for the hit-and-miss blogging around here over the last 3 or 4 months. I've been...hmmm...not under the weather exactly but not really myself since the beginning of the year.
I've been to the doctors more times in the last few weeks than I have in the last 6 years and after some tests and scans hopefully things will get better over the next few months, don't worry it's nothing serious but I just feel my 'sparkle' has been 'dulled' and you've not been getting the best of me of late and I hate not giving my best!
Anyway chin up Fi!
What do you think to these little embroideries then?
They're little embellished felt brooches.
They're about 2 inches across,
made from my wet felt and then hand embroidered with threads and ribbons.
pretty?
Maybe I should try a different shape...
Staying on the subject of brooches, I've also made a few larger ones.

These are quite delicate,
and have lovely buttons, some vintage, stitched in the centre.
The fabric has a lovely iridescent quality and catches the light beautifully.
And just because I thought this was amazing,(yes I've lead a very sheltered life).
Here are two of my aprons that I brought in from the washing line. Just look what the wind has done to the ties! You've got to agree, that's some spectacular knotting and braiding! I wonder what the wind would make if I hung out an unravelled ball of yarn....
Maybe not.

Till next time
love from a very droopy Fi x

Fiona, you put us to shame! These latest creations are absolutely lovely and I am absolutely convinced the faeries have kissed your fingers!
Hoping you will soon feel better, Spring is REALLY out there!
P.S. I mistakenly put my aprons in the washer once or twice with the same results!

Those brooches are exquisite. I do love your work and I thought you had plaited those apron strings.
Keep your chin up and hopefully things will look brighter. I think we all go through times like this.

My washer has that magical ability and you should see what it can do with multiple long sleeved t-shirts! It even makes one sleeve substantially longer once they're untied)! What talent!

oh! beautiful brooches!
Hope it's nothing more than the time of year/weather that's making you feel you've lost your sparkle. If it's any consolation I've heard a lot of people say the same thing lately (self included). Crafting & blogging is good therapy! Hugs xx

Sorry to hear you have been a bit "under the weather" - not surprising when you think of the weather we have had! Seriously tho - I hope you are soon back on top form. Those little brooches are gorgeous - especially the felt ones - like little pieces of jewellery. x jo

One thing you are never short of up in your neck of the woods Fi is a strong wind - and usually from the east. Sorry to hear you have been under the weather - hope there is soon an improvement.

Hey Fi, hope you're feeling tip top ASAP and your sparkle returns good as new....
You're creativity certainly hasn't been affected......your brooches are lovely particularly the lovely organza ones. Beautifully made, I'm sure they'll be very popular and love the aprons.......my goodness it does get windy in the Dales......sending some sunshine your way, hope it makes it.

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling yourself. There must be something in the air because I think I know exactly how you are feeling! I feel pretty much the same.
