TA-DAA!!! Meadow Felt Finished!

 Ta-daa time!
All finished at last. This is the largest piece of felt I've made so far.
This photo gives you an idea of scale. It was difficult to get parts of it under the sewing machine with enough room to move it around freely.
It's a bit of a honey, this one. I really like it. I would really like to keep it. But needs must, as they say. Fingers crossed this one will maybe pay for a grocery shop next month, lol.
It'll be bundled off to the gallery on Tuesday with hopes that someone will fall in love with it and want to give it a loving home. They will gaze upon it every day, and when they do, I want it to give them a lovely sunshiny feeling inside.
And bring a little smile to their lips and tickle their heart.
Because that's what it's done for me while it's been on my kitchen table. But until Tuesday, it's mine. For a whole day it will hang upon my wall and I shall gaze upon it.
You can't help but want to touch it and follow the stitches with your fingers.
The colours shout summer meadow to me, even though I know it's highly unlikely to find such a mix of flora in a meadow today.
My stash of wool tops certainly needs replenishing now,
I've already got a woolly shopping list going!
This was my last job, backing the felt with calico and hand stitching it in place. I also covered the wooden batten that slots in the back with fabric so that it all looks neat and tidy and 'cared about'.
The question now is... What next?

wow, stunning! What an inspiration your pieces are. I'm afraid I'm still at the 'very small' stage with my felting, especially when embellishing with stitching too!

And what a lovely Ta-daa it is Fi.......it's gorgeous and I would love to wander in a meadow full of beautiful flowers like yours.....

I'm also oohing and aahing over you wonderful collection of coloured threads.......

You have me thinking about making a felt garden piece but I best not go there yet!! Too many UFO's to crack on with.

I'm sure someone will give this piece a lovely home where it can be admired and enjoyed for many years to come.
Wishing you a blue sky and sunshine week,

That's beautiful. I hope it sells quickly - and when it does, I believe whoever buys it will indeed cherish it and love gazing at it. It's a joy to look at.

That is mahoosive. Did your sewing machine quiver a little at the 'largeness' of it!? Just keep making gorgeous works like this, they will sell no doubt. You should have your work exhibited in a big London gallery...honest.

It is truly beautiful - I would love to have one - it must have taken immense patience and be so difficult to part with. I bet someone is going to snap it up at the exhibition. Betty.

Claire (Sweet Birdy that she is) directed me here. I love the way your felt shines and glows with colour. I am also very interested in the machine work. I will scroll back through your posts as I want to know your secrets...tee hee.

Claire suggested you would be a good teacher to help me with a project I have on the go right now.

Hi Fi Wow Wow Wow - this is gorgeous - you are so talented I am sure that cards would be good.

I have been flicking back on your blog - what did you do with your sofa in the kitchen - I can't remember?? Will have to come and see you again - I would love to come to your crochet class but just a bit too far for an evening. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Have you thought of doing some small felt pictures ie about A4 size ????

WOW!!! I have never seen anything quite like this . . . it is stunning. A true master-piece. I'm sure you have a lot of time into it, but you certainly have a work of art to be proud of. I feel a need to follow your blog . . . not because I'll get a idea that I can use in my own projects, but because you are amazing. Connie :)

Absolutely stunning, did you use an embellishing machine to do this? The reason I ask, is because I bought one a couple of weeks ago, but as I'm in the middle of moving house, I have only had a little play!.
