A magazine article and an owl...or two.

Hello all. It's been an odd week this week. Some good days, some productive days, some really crappy days, some very hectic days, and some relaxed family days. Very much a mixed bag.
The little dumpy owls are the result of my productive day.
Evolved from my fat birds which everyone thought looked like owls anyway. I decided that I better go with the flow and actually design them to look as much like owls as I could instead of a owlishly looking bird. Let's hope they as popular as their predesessors!
So with a bit of tweaking and adaptation I've created a snuggly little handful. They're filled with wheat which gives them a little bit of weight and the option to gently warm them in the microwave for a comfort cuddle.
They're a quite addictive.
 and take over quite quickly.
On my good day, I received a virtual copy of the March issue of Bustle and Sew Magazine from Devon Bear who had very kindly asked if she could write an article about MarmaladeRose. The result was a lovely little piece featuring little old me as her blog of the month. Thank you sweetie.
Gosh they get everywhere those owls.
Till next time
love Fi x
PS. I'm going into the kitchen now for a silent scream. It's taken me hours to write this post because Blogger it appears has been tweaking too. Why can't they leave things alone AAAARGH!

I just love your owls Fi.
I think blogger annoys us all at times. I've had my fill of the new two word verification thingies and it seems so has many others.
Hugs,

Wonderful Owls.
Why can't the blogger people leave things alone! I was quite happy the way things were, and it always seems my blog is the one that goes missing for days!

Know what you mean about blogger - drives you crazy doesn't it?

Re your hens, owls, rabbits etc. I am sure you could sell these designs to a handwork magazine, along with patterns and instructions. They really are so very professional-looking.

Congratulations on the 'fame'. I love your owls, there are some horrendous owls out there that bear no resemblance to the bird itself. However you have 'got it' with these little beauties I bet they will fly away. I love your fat birds as well. I think my bunny is my favourite thing on my dresser!! XXXXX

Looks like I'm a late newbie huh? I love all your little owls. So darned cute, useful too with the wheat to heat. Did you make up your own pattern for them? Looks like you can use up alot of scraps when making them. Really enjoy your blog.

Congrats on your magazine article, how nice to be named blogger of the month. I still don't have a blog, don't know if I ever will but so enjoy yours and reading alot of others.
I love it that you live in the UK. I've always wanted to visit the U.K. I love Rosamunde Pilcher books, especiallly the Shell Seekers. Do you know of it? They've done 2 movie versions of it here. I also like Maeve Binchy who is Irish. I've read almost every book of both those authors. For some reason I've always been entranced with English books.
I am English, my maiden name was Scofield. My brother did a geneology search and found out a relative way back was some kind of big shot in the 1800's there.

Do you know of any U.K. papercrafting magazines? I've been buying them for couple years but they're getting way to expensive for me. Can't afford to subscribe either as the exchange rate is horrific on my end. I sure enjoy reading them and getting great goodies with alot of them. I used to buy alot of them but that was when both hubby and I were working so it's been since before at least 2009 that I started buying them.

The Barnes and Noble book store in Grand Junction, CO used to have a few but now they're down to one. I can get one of them at Michaels or Jo-Ann's but at least Jo-Ann's has them 10% off. The one I have now is $11.50 U.S. dollars. That's a lot of money for Social Security income.

Things have gotten so expensive here with gas going up then the groceries went crazy. It's expensive to live in Grand Junction area anyway. We wanted to move back to Tucson, AZ but we couldn't get enough for our place to pay it off. Could buy lot nicer house in Az for lot less.

Have prices gone crazy in the U.K. also since the recession?
Ok better end this. Sorry for going on too long.
