A gift for Mum.

This is my latest offering on the applique art front.

Inspired by my Mum and Dads house and pretty garden.

I made a little watercolour sketch to help me pick out the important features.

Plants on the patio.

Wisteria over the window.

Leaded windows and a suggestion of brickwork.

Stepping stones in the lawn and shrubs around the pond.

Finished just in time for Mums birthday!

And luckily she loved it, she even shed a few tears.

love Fi x

Que trabalho fantástico. Estava passeando e encontrei o teu blog, entrei e me encantei. Coisas lindas, lugar lindo que tens de fundo para teus trabalhos. Num lugar assim, a inspiração só pode ser farta e com estes resultados belíssimos. Parabéns.

I'm not surprised she shed a tear - what a perfectly lovely present! You'll be getting commissions from your Mum's friends when they see it!

Hey Fi, I have been waiting patiently for the 'big reveal' and it was certainly worth it.

What a lovely, thoughtful gift for your mum. It's turned out really well. I love the wisteria and the plants in pots.

What are you going to do for your dad for Father's Day?.........

Have a great day,

Claire :}

I am sure she absolutely loved it! It's a real treasure - and no doubt hours of your time and lots of love went into the making of it. I have had fun with my latest picture but can't show it just yet. I used to make them as gifts and leaving pressies many, many years ago. It seems to be taking a while to get my skills back! Thanks for sharing your inspiring pics. x Jo

Ow I wish I was your mum I'd be delighted to recieve an "aplique" replica of my home. I've admired your work for a while and I love it, can I ask do you take commissions?? I'd love to have a go myself but it looks far too complicated and besides it's having all the right fabrics etc. Can I show you a piccy of my house? thanks Lucey x
