Felted Flora

Hello my lovely ladies.
Oh how I've missed you, I've left it far too long between posts recently, but real life just keeps getting in the way! It has an annoying habit of rudely pushing it's way in and demanding my attention!
Anyhow, today I have a Ta-Daa moment for you...
My latest embellished felt picture!

Shall we take a closer look?

This is felted Merino wool and Wensleydale tops.

Free motion machine embroidery.

Some hand embroidery, I'm sure you recognise the tiny yellow French Knots. (I later decided they weren't right and unpicked them all.)

I've also appliqued other fabrics on top.

Ah! Here's a flower minus it's French Knots. (They were far too bright and zingy, distracting the eye.)

So I needle felted some shade and tone to the flower centres and then hand embroidered on top of that with a seed stitch.

A lot of rummaging through bobbins goes on during picture making.

You wouldn't believe how many photos I had to take of this piece to get some half decent pictures! I don't know what I do wrong but my camera seems to suck all of the colour out! These are the best of a bad bunch.
.
Anyhow I hope you liked them and before I go, I'd just like to say thank you for all of your lovely comments. I know I don't always get time to reply to you all individually but I do read each and every one and enjoy your input immensely. (so does Wonderful Man!)
.
Till next time
Love Fi x

Oh Fi, it's just lovely, you must be pleased with it.Love the cone flowers and the use of other fabric on the Canterbury Bells ( hope I got the flowers right!)
What are your plans for it? Are you going to frame it or send it off to one of your shops? I am sure it would be snapped up very quickly.

Fantastic work!!! I like to use sulky threads too. Are you going to frame this piece of work?? More than 20 minutes here I suspect.

Hey Fi, maybe it's time to open up your very own little etsy shop!
Strike while the iron is hot, sometimes it doesn't help to think about things too long, be proactive. (and I'm not talking about the skin product either!)
Thanks for dropping by, hope all is well,
