Vintage scrap recycling.

Hello all. So nice of you to pop by. Do you remember my vintage linen scraps that I showed you last time? Well I can show what I did with them now.
I couldn't bare to throw even the tiniest piece away.
so I crazy patchworked them.
I love crazy patchwork especially the Victorian type with all the extra embroidery on the seams.

So this is my version.
Couldn't show you last time as I was still waiting for a delivery of soft, pluffy, feather cushion pads. This one is a neat 12"x12".

OO! Look! another cushion has snook into the picture. That one will soon be on its way to lovely lady called Jane, if you like, I'll show you a close up of that one next time.
.
Right I need to go and chase up some embroidery threads that were ordered from a company who said it would take 1-2 days delivery... 10days ago!
love Fi x

I love embroidered linens too and find it hard to cut into them but using every last scrap like this would certainly help. This is so beautiful and showing respect for the hard work of the original makers too!

That is absolutely beautiful! Is crazy patchwork difficult? I really fancy trying it but I'm worried it will go horribly wrong :-S

Super way to use up those bits, Fiona. Hope you are all thriving down there (or should it be up there?)

I am in love with that cushion. I may not sleep tonight for thinking about it.

That looks amazing. I just today purchased a hand embroidered table linen from a charity shop for 30p! Purely for this reason as your blog inspired me to have a go with this after seeing the photo of a cushion cover on your blog. Thank you I would never have thought of doing this. Your blog is excellent, I love to read it.

Thank you for a delightful hour visiting through your posts! I love your creativity. You remind me that years ago I had a little sewing pamphlet that said, don't wait for the perfect time to sew (which I inadvertently ALWAYS do), Just take 10 or 15 minutes whenever, and DO a bit. I wonder if I can DO something with my knitting after reading so much of your inspiring blog. We'll see....lol. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home, and talents with me today.
